Human Services

The organizations supported by the Committee On Human Services are many and varied, and our support takes many forms. In the area of housing, for example, we favor organizations that build or restore housing for the homeless or those in need, including shelters and group homes, as well as individual residences for low income and first-time homeowners.

Our support may be through direct grants and contributions or may be structured as program related investment. Operational support is granted to organizations that run long term as well as temporary shelters or halfway houses which may need specific assistance or want to develop a special program for a particular group.

Support is also granted to special purpose organizations for specific needs among its programs, such as substance abuse abatement, job training, food distribution, services to youth, the disabled and elderly as well as health care, religious and  educational services.
