Theme and Logo Contest Theme and Logo Contest Theme and Logo Contest

Past Themes and winning designs: “Soar with Service Learning,” “Serving Others While Learning Ourselves,” “Grow Into Service Learning,” “Open the Door to Service Learning,” “Get On Board with Service Learning,” and “Fleur’ish with Service Learning.”

Each year, the Brown Foundation Service Learning Program features a service learning Theme and Logo at its annual Service Learning Celebration. Students grades K-11 can create their own five-word theme and draw a picture (logo) to accompany the words. The theme represents what service learning means to its participants, and each year we offer an opportunity to students to express that meaning. The phrase can be original or given, but all artwork is to be designed by our local, participating students. Teachers will enter students’ Theme and Logo artwork, and the winning designs will be recognized at the following Service Learning Event. The artwork may be featured on note cards, invitations, service learning binders, and t-shirts. Teachers are encouraged to promote the contest students. Students may create original artwork and use the word theme "serving others while learning ourselves" or create their own word theme to match their art design.

The given theme for the 2012 – 2013 school year is: “Serving others while learning ourselves.”
