Conservation, the Environment, and the Arts

Conservation

Aware of the necessity of preserving many facets of our environment and local green spaces, this committee eagerly attempts support in several critical areas. Included is preserving our green spaces and foliage, rain forests, our wetlands, and our endangered species. The Foundation will also accept and consider requests for Environmental PRIs (privately related investments).

Financial needs in these areas are huge, but we feel even our nominal monetary support will help do much good. While some of our funding is elsewhere, we mainly help Louisiana and local organizations whenever possible.

The Arts

While the direction of the Foundation is not primarily cultural, we feel individuals benefit from exposure to the arts. To this end we provide funds for the philharmonic, the opera and the ballet so that children can attend certain performances to begin or enhance their appreciation of artistic renditions. The results have been rewarding.

We support special performances and guest artist appearances as well as general operations.

For questions, please email the committee's chair or contact either Beth Buscher or Mary Calabrese at the Foundation office.
