The Brown Foundation Center
The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Center opened March 31, 2003. It broadens the roots of this New Orleans-based Foundation which began in 1958.
The Brown Foundation Center houses the offices of the Foundation and the Brown Foundation Service Learning Program on the fifth floor, where trustee meetings are held to review and make decisions on grant applications. On the third and fourth floors, the Foundation Center currently houses non-profit organizations and a Community Conference Room. The Community Conference Room, located on the fourth floor, is available for use by non-profit groups and local, civic or religious organizations.
The Board of Trustees decided the building itself would serve the community and act as an incubating facility for qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Space is offered for rent at a discount to ease the financial burden so many non-profit groups face. The Board’s wish is to offer a professional environment at a prime location to allow an organization to come into fruition and successfully move out to sustainable independence.
Please contact Harry Peneguy, Facilities Director for questions concerning availability of rental space at the Center.
