Summer Camp Application Program

The application window for the 2025 Summer Camp Program closed on January 31, 2025. We likely will run a summer camp program in 2026 with a similar application window of November 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026; however, such decision will not be made until October of 2025 – please check back to this page for updates on whether there will be a 2026 Summer Camp Program.

Summer camp operations may exclusively receive support from the foundation through this program.  Our staff is not permitted to help organizations fill out the summer camp application or review drafts of your application, please do not make a request that they assist you in completing the summer camp application. Our Summer Camp Program is particularly interested in over-night camps focused on children who are unable to attend most other camps due to special needs, such as a camp specialized for children who received a heart transplant. We are also looking for programming that promotes STEM, reduces summer learning loss by providing high-quality learning instruction (particularly in math) by trained staff and have a low camper to counselor ratio, or incorporates academic enrichment activities as a part of the camp programming to reduce summer learning loss. We will only consider supporting camps located in Louisiana or Mississippi. This program is competitive and all applicants are limited to no more than two years of support through this program.

• Qualifications:
  Applicants must be a non-profit organization, school, non-governmental agency, CBO or religious organization in good standing with the IRS, which has been operating for four years or more in Louisiana and Mississippi. Summer Camps are rotated out after two years of participation in this program.
• Timeline:
  2025 Application Window: November 1, 2024 – January 31, 2025.
  2025 Grant Period: May 1 –  August 31, 2025.
  2025 Grant Reports due: September 30, 2025.
